And We'll Have Fun, Fun, Fun....
...'cause our daughter let us borrow her convertible for the day! (Think Beach Boys tune here, the one about borrowing her Daddy's car because he took her T Bird away, except in our case we took our daughter's car away for the day - a zippy convertible!!!) Check out our adventures, but note: there is no hamburger stand here.
Our first destination is the Chicago Botanic Garden. Incredible views and colors every direction you turn.
Next, we drove to the Frank Lloyd Wright Robie House in Hyde Park.
Taking the house tour was informative and interesting. We found it hard to believe this house is 100 years old. Back in the convertible to drive north to Chicago...
...where we, once again, visited Millennium Park for a fabulous concert. Ravel's Bolero totally blew us away with the over-the-top percussion at the end of the piece!
Below: our last stop, Buckingham Fountain.
Finally, we were on our way home with a day of fun behind us. A summer evening driving home via Lake Shore Drive with the convertible top down, Lake Michigan to our right, stars up above and next to each other was the perfect end to a perfect day! Too bad we couldn't fit in surfing, and I could refer to another Beach Boys tune.
