Horsing Around (Copycat Challenge #10)

All the Pretty Horses Hush-a-bye don't you cry, Go to sleep-y, little baby. When you wake you shall have All the pretty little horses. Blacks and bays, dapple grays, Coach and six white horses. Hush-a-bye don't you cry, Go to sleep-y, little baby. This lullaby was the inspiration for Number Ten in the Copycat Challenge/Blog Project based upon the book by Vicki Haninger. This time I selected the Petite Pony on pages 18 and 19. Why? Because I could turn the pony into ponies - and hopefully, pretty ones at that! Sorry, though, no blacks and bays or dapple grays in this pack of horses due to the nature of the green blanket I'm using for all the CC projects! And the six "white" horses are only three in number - with the "coach" being a tiny pink lampshade I found at the thrift store. The pretty part will have to be all the crystal beads I used to hang on the fishline. What on earth is this project with horses, a lampshade and beads, you might ask? Why, it's a.... ...m-o-b-i-l-e for Miss Ellie's Nursery Nook! It hangs on the back side of the folded screen facing her vintage crib. This is what it looks like from the room side. And surely you recognize the happy man holding the mobile recipient?

Speaking of outfits, Timi, how are you doing for clothes for your little expected one? Could you use some of E's gently used ones?

Oh, thanks for asking, Deb! We sure could use some more outfits... I have been buying some but trying to be very careful because who knows how tall/big she is going to be and the weather counts in also. Don`t Anne and Jed would like to keep those outfits for the future little Bassett?

Also, we are ready to make her room beautiful, just waiting for Jennifer to come out during spring break so she does not have to sleep in paint fume... We decided to do pale purple and cream vertical stripes on the wall and hoping to get a white crib with changing table. I already bought some other accessories, like a white giraffe lamp, purple wicker hamper etc. I am looking for a stuffed plush toy, Peter Rabbit because I found Jemima duck and now I feel she will `need to have` Peter Rabbit as well :)

Mom, you never cease to amaze me with the adorable things that you come up with. I bet that Ellie will L-O-V-E the mobile that you made, especially since she is really starting to focus on things these days!

Timi and Andrew,

I have a lot of items that Ellie never wore that I had gotten from other people that I would be HAPPY to send to you guys for keeps. I am glad that you would be willing to take them. They might not all be your style, but it is nice just to have some options as baby clothes can be so expensive and they wear them for such a short time. I will work on putting a little package together for you guys...maybe I will send it out at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

Love you guys!
Anne

Anne, you are so sweet! We sure would appreciate clothes you don`t use/need. I already went thru Will`s clohting but found not much for our little girl to wear since most of them are blue :(

We hope all of you are doing well, Jed is feeling better and your little one is developing perfectly!

Thank you for your kindness, again it is very much appreciated!
Timi, Andrew and Will

It's funny, but I always like your versions better than what is in the book. The ponies are a perfect example: yours are MUCH cuter. I absolutely love that lullaby. Do you or Anne have the CD "Return to Pooh Corner" by Kenny Loggins. A must. Run right out and buy it or get it from iTunes. All the Pretty Little Horses is on it: it's my favorite!
Dreamy doesn't even begin to describe this album.
