Yes, It Has Come to This. (P*S*C #12)

When Laena was born well over four years ago, I sewed this little red and yellow quilt with matching bear as a gift. I envisioned tea parties with the duo sitting on the little red quilt. Little did I realize how much she would grow to love her quilt! When we saw her this past weekend, I never expected one of the quilts I'd made to be loved into oblivion. Here's what's left of it: And she still loves this "quilt" taking it with her everywhere she goes! This past summer, this is what the quilt looked like...it was missing its backing and batting.

The summer before this it looked relatively intact, but repair was needed on the back. (I blogged about it here.).http://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=36560567&postID=7678715074335307692 Now, there is no more possible patching. Meanwhile, the quilts made for Grace and Karl live on, and it was sweet to be able to see they still like their patchwork comforts...even bringing them with to Minnesota!

Grace's Quilt Karl's Quilt Somehow, in the back of my mind, I'm thinking I need to write a little children's book about the love Laena has had for her little red quilt and call the story Comforter. It is a story about true passion.

That heavily used and loved quilt is hilarious! I love it that she was still carrying it around.

Deb--you are so creative and crafty! I especially love Karl's quilt with the snakes.

And what a sweet picture of Laena holding up the tattered remains of her quilt... You should definitely write a childrens book. I will buy it.

What a sweet story, and loving tribute to how loved YOU and your crafty gifts are! I'd buy the book, and offer to cater the release party, to boot! :)
