Bunny Bonanza! (Copycat Challenge #14,#15, #16)

Everyone knows that rabbits are fast multipliers, and they have been increasing in these parts, too! With Easter almost here, I thought there was no better time to do the bunnies - all of THREE of them - from Vicki Haninger's book Blanket Statement in the ongoing blogging/crafting project.Bunny #1 was found on pages 82 - 83 as Sugar Bun. So cute and so sweet. I discovered that by not stuffing the rabbit, and leaving the bottom open, a hand puppet was made. Thus, the "tweaking" was a piece of cake on this project. (My goal is to slightly alter the projects with a twist all my own.)
To test out the bunny, Ellie was my available audience. (Her Daddy is in the hospital now for follow-up surgery and we are spending oodles of time together and having a blast! And, I happily report that Jed is doing very well!) The author of the book gave great instructions on how to make wool felted balls and I made two out of lavender wool for the bunny's nose and tail.
Bunny #2 is on pages 94 - 95 and is called Baby Bunny. My "tweak" is adding the felt flowers as inspired by those in THE FELT BOOK by Clare Beaton.
Bunny #3 is called White Chocolate Easter Bunny (makes me hungry for one just writing about it!) on pages 92-93. Tweaking, again, with felt flowers inspired by the Beaton book. And, I thought these two bunnies needed to match!
Close-up details:
The two bunnies watch over the eggs...you might recognize the eggs from a previous entry on how to use silk ties to dye fancy Easter eggs.
So, there you have it. Bunnies times three.

Hey Deb,
For our Easter celebration and what this holiday represents, it was spectacular. We enjoyed attending our church's vigil and celebrating the light and resurrection after the darkness.

We're looking forward to Easter egg hunts with grandchildren in the coming years - I'm aiming for the White House Easter Egg Roll in 2013 - care to join me?

No news on gender - don't think we'll know until his/her birth day.
